great painting. this is the 1st time i've seen your work, looking at them now, you can tell you're getting better and better. this has the smoothest look to it. almost wish there was a planet in there somewhere. :)

Awesome work on these clouds, looks like a rain storm out in the middle of the desert (with those colors).

Gorgeous piece! very nice drawing of a thunderhead I wish I was good with painting clouds! hehe, I tried once but didnt do too hot of a job, Guess I'll have to give it another shot sometime! hehe. I'll have to agree with GOOFMSs though! this just has this funky feel of needing a planet in it! hehe

:) Good colours, especially the sky
:) The rain and haze is convincing
:( The texture of the cloud is too "thready". Even when the cloud seems streaky and smeared, try taking your pen off the tablet and then re-applying it. This thready effect is particularly apparent top right. I always blend the colours smoothly first, and then dab in the details afterwards with a low opacity brush.
:( I think it needs a horizon, just a very thin one right at the bottom

Thanks everyone!

BaronImpossible: Thanks for your advice :) I agree with you about the horizon, great idea! :)

By thready do you mean that there are too many thin strokes and not enough actual block shading?

and to think you've spent 36 hours making this, when you could have explored your inner 'feelings' , took a sheet of acid and painted stuff like your 'death beside me' piece.......

i hope you've now realized your full potential

and never spend more than 34 seconds working again.....

you know i'm kidding right?

this is just excellent work, and so is all the rest of your gallery (apart from 'death beside me')

top marks that i can give dude
